Obverse description Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, modelled by Cecil Thomas, wearing the George IV State Diadem and a lace-trimmed robe with a pearl necklace visible at the truncation. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail to the hair and crown jewels. The circumferential legend reads QUEEN ELIZABETH THE SECOND, with the engraver's initials CT appearing at the truncation of the bust. The rim is defined by a continuous border of fine milling.
