Additional information

Brij Raj Dev ruled Jammu only briefly in the late 18th century, and coinage attributable to his reign is correspondingly scarce. The Jammu hill states of this period operated semi-autonomous mints under nominal Mughal suzerainty, though by 1784 that authority had collapsed almost entirely — the Mughals could no longer enforce tribute collection, let alone dictate coinage standards across the Punjab hills.

KM#10.1 distinguishes this variety from related Jammu issues by die specifics that remain incompletely catalogued in most references.
