| Obverse description | Intaglio vignette of King Birendra Bir Bikram in left profile, wearing traditional plumed crown and royal regalia, occupies the left portion of the note against a fine guilloche underprint in violet-blue. At centre, a vignette of the Pashupatinath temple in Kathmandu is rendered in ochre and blue, accompanied by Devanagari inscriptions and the denomination in large Nepali script.
