Obverse description The obverse displays the imperial Mughal legend in bold Nastaliq calligraphy arranged in three horizontal registers across the field, divided by two parallel lines. The central register bears the name and titles of Emperor Alamgir II, with the regnal year rendered in Eastern Arabic numerals (١١٧٣) inscribed in the lower segment below the dividing lines. The hammered flan imparts a characteristic irregular outline to the coin, and the deeply struck legends fill the entire field in the traditional Mughal style.
