Obverse description The obverse bears two registers of bold Nasta'liq calligraphy in the field, divided by a horizontal line. The upper register contains the imperial title 'Aurangzeb Alamgir' and the Hijri regnal year 1116 AH, while the lower register carries the 'Jo Badr' couplet — a poetic verse identifying the emperor as the full moon of the faith. The legends are struck in high relief typical of Mughal hammered coinage, with characteristic irregular flan edges visible at the coin's periphery.
