| Obverse description | Hammered silver flan bearing a two-line Persian couplet in bold Nasta'liq script, divided horizontally by a raised linear band across the field. The upper register reads the first hemistich of the regnal couplet glorifying Aurangzeb Alamgir, while the lower register completes the verse. The AH mint year appears within or adjacent to the central field. The legends are deeply struck with characteristic Mughal calligraphic style, and the coin edges show the irregular outline typical of hand-struck rupees of the period. |
