| Obverse description | Central field occupied by two lines of bold Naskh Arabic calligraphy presenting the 'badr munir' couplet, a poetic epithet of Emperor Aurangzeb Alamgir, divided by a horizontal ruled line. The AH regnal date appears within or below the couplet. The inscription is rendered in a fluid, characteristic Mughal hand, filling the flan to the margins. Decorative floral or dot ornaments punctuate the field and border. |
