Reverse description The reverse displays a multi-line Persian legend in Nastaliq script arranged in curved registers across the field, recording the mint name and regnal year: 'Zarb Farrukhabad sanat 28 julus maimanat manus' (Struck at Farrukhabad in the 28th year of the auspicious reign of tranquil prosperity). The inscription references the reign of Mughal Emperor Shah Alam II, under whose nominal suzerainty this coin was issued by the Nawab of Farrukhabad. Small ornamental devices appear between the lines of text, consistent with the local hammered coinage tradition of the Rohilla successor states.
