Obverse description The obverse field is entirely occupied by Persian calligraphic inscriptions arranged in three horizontal registers separated by ruled lines. The uppermost register bears the regnal name and title of Emperor Alamgir II, while the central and dominant register carries the imperial epithet 'Badshah Ghazi' in bold, deeply struck Nasta'liq script. The lowermost register contains the Hijri regnal year. The legends fill the flan to the rim with characteristic Mughal hammered-coin style, and the coin exhibits a slightly irregular, hand-struck planchet typical of the period.
