| Obverse description | Central field bears a multi-line Persian legend arranged in cartouche style, reading in Arabic script: the auspicious coin of the Victorious Emperor, chosen of the faith of Muhammad, Alamgir, with the regnal year 1172 AH prominently incorporated into the legend. The inscription is rendered in fine Naskh calligraphy and the entire design is enclosed within a toothed (dentilated) border. |
