Obverse description Circular hammered silver flan with a beaded border enclosing a horizontal dividing line separating the field into two registers. The upper register bears the opening portion of the Persian royal legend in bold Nasta'liq script, reading 'Sikka Mubarak Ahmad Shah Bahadur' (the auspicious coin of Ahmad Shah Bahadur). The lower register continues the legend in similarly bold calligraphy. The overall style is characteristic of Mughal-derived coinage struck under Maratha authority in the name of the Mughal emperor Ahmad Shah Bahadur.
