Obverse description Three horizontal registers of Persian script enclosed within raised linear borders, occupying the full field of the flan. The central and dominant register bears the royal titulature of the Mughal emperor Ahmad Shah Bahadur in bold, deeply struck Nasta'liq calligraphy. The upper and lower registers carry additional lines of the imperial legend, consistent with the standard Mughal rupee format. Small decorative dot ornaments and lozenge-shaped marks are visible in the field between and around the script lines.
