| Reverse description | The reverse bears a prominent multi-line Arabic calligraphic inscription occupying the majority of the field, rendered in the characteristic bold, interlocking script associated with Afghan rupees of the Abdur Rahman period. The legend reads 'Ahmad Shahi' in reference to the Ahmadshahi Mint, framed by ornamental devices and foliate flourishes in the field. A beaded inner border and a dashed or striated outer border define the coin's periphery, consistent with the obverse treatment. The irregular flan and slightly uneven strike are typical of the hand-hammered technique employed at the Ahmadshahi Mint during this era. |
