Obverse description The Ashoka Lion Capital, the national emblem of India, is depicted centrally in the field, showing three lions passant guardant atop an abacus featuring the Dharma Chakra (wheel) flanked by a galloping horse and bull in relief. The inscription 'भारत' (Bharat) appears to the left and 'INDIA' to the right of the emblem, both reading upward along the inner rim. The national motto 'सत्यमेव जयते' (Satyameva Jayate, meaning 'Truth Alone Triumphs') is inscribed in Devanagari script along the lower field beneath the emblem.
