Obverse description The Clunies Ross family coat of arms is centrally positioned at the top, flanked by the territorial name split as KEELING to the left and COCOS to the right, with ISLANDS below. A red-printed numeral 1 within a circle occupies the upper left, while the serial designation Y/E 1823 appears to the upper right. The lower portion carries a letterpress exchange undertaking within a dotted border, dated 1902, and signed in manuscript by G. Clunies Ross. The note is uniface.
