Reverse description The central field bears the denomination ONE RUPEE in two lines, surmounted by a lotus flower motif, the whole enclosed within a wreath tied at the base, with the date 1834 appearing in the exergue below. The legend EAST INDIA COMPANY is distributed above and below the wreath along the outer border. Flanking the central inscriptions within or adjacent to the wreath are the denomination rendered in three additional scripts: Hindi (Devanagari: एक रूपया), Farsi (Persian/Nastaliq: یک روپیه), and Bengali (এক রূপায়া), reflecting the multilingual character of East India Company coinage intended for circulation across the Indian subcontinent.
