Obverse description Central field dominated by the interlaced royal cypher of Frederik V — the letters 'F' and '5' conjoined in an ornate cursive monogram — surmounted by a royal crown. The monogram is boldly rendered in high relief against an unlettered field. The coin edge is bordered by a continuous milled or toothed rim, characteristic of Tranquebar coinage of the period. No legend surrounds the monogram, giving the obverse a clean, heraldic appearance.
