Reverse description At centre, a finely detailed relief portrait of a Far-Eastern turtle (Pelodiscus maackii) depicted naturalistically, showing the characteristic softshell form with textured carapace and extended neck. The field surrounding the animal is plain and unadorned. Encircling the design along the rim, the inscription ДАЛЬНЕВОСТОЧНАЯ ЧЕРЕПАХА identifies the species. The overall composition is rendered in a refined engraving style consistent with Russian commemorative coinage of the period.
