Minsk's founding date of 1067 rests on a single chronicle entry describing a battle on the Nemiga River, in which forces loyal to Yaroslav the Wise's sons defeated Vseslav of Polotsk. The city wasn't so much founded as it was first mentioned in the context of being sacked. That the Belarusian state chose that violent debut as the official anniversary date says something about how origin myths get constructed.
