The Lugansk People's Republic declared independence from Ukraine in May 2014 following the broader Donbas conflict, but it has never operated a recognized monetary system — the Russian rouble circulates there by practical necessity. These pieces are fantasy issues, produced outside any official mint mandate, with no evidence they ever functioned as legal tender or saw genuine circulation.
