Additional information

Part of a long-running Belarusian folklore series, this rouble draws on regional Slavic legend associating storks with domestic fortune — a bird so culturally embedded in rural Belarus that villages historically competed to host nesting pairs on rooftop poles. The National Bank launched these copper-nickel folklore issues in the early 2000s partly as a domestic collectibles market strategy, with mintages kept low enough to sustain secondary demand without the expense of precious metal production.

KM#303 is a mid-series entry, and collector premiums on the folklore coins vary sharply by subject — stork themes have performed better than most.
