Additional information

Menesk — the name used in the 12th-century East Slavic chronicle Tale of Bygone Years — refers to the city now known as Minsk, and its founding legend involves a miller-giant named Menesk who reportedly ground bones and sand rather than grain, raising an army from the flour. The National Bank of Belarus has issued an extended series of coins drawing on Belarusian folk mythology and chronicle literature, of which this is one entry.

KM#761 places it within a well-documented collector sequence rather than a circulation issue.
