| Obverse description | Printed in letterpress style within an architectural columned frame, the obverse carries a double-headed eagle vignette at each lateral margin. The central panel bears the denomination ОДИНЪ РУБЛЬ in bold Cyrillic lettering above a redemption text, two manuscript signatures, and the series designation СЕРІЯ-А at lower left and right. The year 1918 is set within an ornamental cartouche at the bottom centre, while the full issuing authority legend runs across the upper border. |

The Siberian Provisional Government emerged from the chaos following the Bolshevik seizure of power, and its currency issues reflect that instability directly. This rouble belongs to the brief administrative period before Admiral Kolchak's November 1918 coup consolidated White forces under a single command — after which the Omsk government absorbed and superseded these earlier regional emissions.
The S816 series was not backed by any functioning gold reserve policy, despite later Kolchak-era propaganda to the contrary. Notes from this specific administration circulated across a vast but poorly controlled territory, competing with Kerensky roubles, Romanov-era notes, and dozens of other local scrip issues simultaneously.
