Additional information

Transnistria's ongoing series of city coat-of-arms roubles exists because the territory's currency has no international recognition whatsoever — not even by Russia, whose support keeps the state functioning. Striking collectible domestic issues is partly a revenue mechanism, partly an assertion of institutional permanence by a central bank that most of the world pretends doesn't exist.

Dnestrovsk is a small industrial town on the Dniester's left bank, built around a major power station constructed during the Soviet period.
