At upper left, a laurel wreath enclosing the text '99 år' serves as the printer's anniversary device, while the NSF cooperative logo appears at upper right. Issued for the 1976 Romsdal scout jamboree held at Åndalsnes, this is a local scrip token rather than a circulating banknote — produced for exchange within the camp and worthless outside it. Nikolai Olsens trykkeri, a Norwegian commercial press, handled production, which was standard practice for Norwegian scout events of the period that needed simple, functional internal currency.
The denomination "Romsdaler" is a regional pun: the krone was Norway's real currency, but Romsdal is the district, and "daler" the old pre-decimal unit.
