Reverse description The reverse displays a dense multi-line Arabic calligraphic inscription arranged across the full field, divided into an inner oval cartouche and a surrounding outer legend. The central cartouche bears the Islamic shahada — There is no god but God, Muhammad is the Messenger of God — in two lines separated by a horizontal rule, rendered in bold naskh script. The outer legend, encircling the cartouche, identifies the issuing authority as the Mutawakkilite Kingdom of Yemen and records the mint formula: Struck in the capital city Sana'a, with the Hijri mint date 1381. The entire composition is enclosed within a raised circular border and a reeded rim.
