Obverse description The central field features a bold calligraphic Arabic legend within a dotted inner circle, giving the name and titles of King Abd al-Aziz ibn Abd al-Rahman Al Saud. Flanking the lower portion of the inner circle are two palm trees rendered in relief, their fronds extending outward symmetrically. Below the palm trees, at the base of the design, a pair of crossed swords is depicted in low relief. A continuous Arabic legend in bold Thuluth script encircles the outer field, separated from the central device by the dotted border. The coin is struck within a milled edge and the overall design is entirely in Arabic script with no figurative portrait.
