| Obverse description | The Saudi Arabian national emblem occupies the central field, consisting of a date palm surmounting two crossed swords, all rendered in fine relief. A continuous Arabic legend encircles the design, reading in the upper arc the royal title and name of King Fahd bin Abd al-Aziz Al Saud, and in the lower arc his honorific title as Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. The legends are executed in an elegant calligraphic script that follows the inner rim of the coin. |
