| Reverse description | The reverse features the official logo of Malaysia's 2015 ASEAN Chairmanship at center: a stylized floral motif composed of interlocking human figures in dynamic poses, encircling the ASEAN emblem — a sheaf of ten paddy stalks on a circular ground inscribed 'asean'. Circular dot devices punctuate the design between the figural elements. The legend ASEAN 2015 MALAYSIA arcs along the upper border, while the motto OUR PEOPLE • OUR COMMUNITY • OUR VISION curves along the lower periphery. |

Issued to mark Malaysia's chairmanship of ASEAN in 2015, the year the bloc formally established the ASEAN Economic Community. Malaysia held the rotating chairmanship with the theme "Our People, Our Community, Our Vision," and circulating commemoratives were a deliberate part of the public-facing campaign around the integration milestone. Nordic gold — the same copper-aluminum-zinc-tin alloy used in Euro coins — was already the standard for Malaysian ringgit coinage by this point, having replaced the earlier brass composition.
