The 30th Annual Meeting of the Islamic Development Bank was held in Putrajaya in June 2005 — the first time Malaysia hosted the gathering, which brought together finance ministers and central bank governors from across the 56-member Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. Bank Negara issued this ringgit to mark the occasion, a practice common in Malaysia for significant international financial events hosted on home soil.
