| Obverse description | Bare-headed right-facing effigy of Oscar I, King of Sweden and Norway, rendered in high relief with a prominent elongated goatee beard. The truncation of the neck bears the engraver's initials 'L.A.' The surrounding legend is incuse and disposed along the rim, identifying the monarch and his titles. The portrait is executed in a classical neoclassical style, with fine detail in the facial features and hair. |
