Obverse description Draped and armored bust of King Frederick I facing right, wearing a cuirass with pearl-trimmed pauldron and a draped mantle, without a visible brooch. The hair is rendered in long, flowing curls falling to the shoulder in the style of a full-bottomed wig. The royal effigy is positioned centrally within the field, with the continuous Latin legend arching above and around the portrait.

Reverse description The crowned greater arms of Sweden displayed on an ornate, baroque-style shield occupying the center of the field. The date 17-23 is divided by the shield, appearing at either side. Above the royal crown, the king's personal motto is inscribed in Swedish within the legend, framing the upper portion of the design.
