(Translation: Karl XI, by the Grace of God, King of the Swedes.)
Reverse description Central crowned coat of arms of Sweden, featuring the quartered shield with the Three Crowns and the lion of the Folkung dynasty, supported on each side by standing lions rampant as shield bearers. The whole achievement is surmounted by a royal crown and contained within a raised inner circle. The peripheral legend incorporating the date in Roman numerals M·DC·L·XXVI (1676) encircles the design, with the king's personal motto forming the primary inscription.
