Reverse description A full-length figure of a standing armored knight in classical military dress faces slightly left, holding a lance or staff in his right hand and a document or scroll in his left. He stands astride a quartered heraldic shield bearing the crowned arms of Holland, with decorative foliage at its sides. The Dutch motto EENDRACHT MAAKT MAGT (Unity Makes Strength) is inscribed in the upper field, divided on either side of the figure, and the date 1809 appears in the exergue below the shield.
