Obverse description Black letterpress print on white paper with an ornate decorative vignette to the left incorporating a large stylised letter 'E'. The central field carries the promissory text and denomination in period typeface. The bottom bears handwritten authorising signatures, and an impressed (dry-stamp) royal coat of arms and royal monogram appear on the note, with an anti-counterfeiting legend positioned to the right.
