| Obverse description | A detailed frontal view of the temple complex of Angkor Wat occupies the central field, rendered with fine architectural detail showing the characteristic five towers, galleries, and entrance gopuras flanked by stylized palm trees. A circular Khmer legend surrounds the central motif, reading along the upper and lower periphery. The date of proclamation of the Khmer Republic, 9 October 1970, is incorporated into the inscription in Khmer numerals at the base of the design. |
