Obverse description The national emblem of the Sultanate of Oman occupies the central field, depicting a khanjar (traditional curved dagger) within its sheath, superimposed upon two crossed swords with their blades curving outward. The emblem is rendered in fine relief against a mirror-polished proof field. The upper legend reads 'ONE RIAL' with 'SULTANATE OF OMAN' and 'CENTRAL BANK OF OMAN' completing the surrounding inscription.
