| Obverse description | The national emblem of Oman occupies the central field, depicting two crossed khanjar daggers overlaid by a traditional khanjari sword belt, all rendered in fine relief. An inner circle of Arabic script legend surrounds the emblem, reading 'Sultanate of Oman' and the denomination in Arabic. To the left of the emblem appears the denomination 'ONE RIAL' in Latin characters, and to the right the Arabic equivalent 'ريال واحد'. Two five-pointed stars flank the lower field.
