| Obverse description | The national emblem of Oman occupies the central field, depicting a khanjar (curved dagger) within its sheath superimposed upon two crossed scimitars, the traditional symbol of Omani sovereignty. The emblem is rendered in fine relief against a polished gold field. The date ٢٠٠١ (2001) appears in Arabic-Eastern numerals, likely in the lower field or exergue.
