Obverse description The national emblem of the Sultanate of Oman occupies the central field, depicting a khanjar (curved dagger) in its sheath superimposed upon two crossed swords, all rendered in fine relief. The emblem is encircled by a raised legend in Arabic along the upper arc reading the name of the Central Bank of Oman and the Sultanate, with the denomination expressed in both Arabic and Latin scripts flanking the lower portion of the design. The issuing authority 'CENTRAL BANK OF OMAN' and 'SULTANATE OF OMAN' appear in Latin script completing the peripheral legend.
