Obverse description Half-length armoured effigy of King Christian IV facing right, wearing a lace ruff at the collar and a sash across the breastplate. The king's head is bare and uncrowned, while a royal crown appears above in the field. The legend encircles the bust, interrupted by the date, and is rendered in Latin capital letters. The portrait reflects the refined engraving style characteristic of early seventeenth-century Danish royal coinage.
