Obverse description Right-facing draped and armored bust of Prince August Louis of Anhalt-Köthen, wearing a long curled wig typical of mid-18th century German princely portraiture, with elaborate plate armor and a sash visible at the truncation. The circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy reading D G AVGVSTVS LVDOVICVS PRINCEPS ANHALT, separated by a dot ornament.
