Obverse description Central device depicts a bound sheaf of wheat or grain stalks, tied at the middle and fanning outward at the top with ripened ears of grain. The date 1936 is positioned in the field flanking the sheaf, with digits split on either side. The mint mark D appears at the bottom of the field, just above the rim, denoting the Munich Mint. The design is rendered in low relief against a plain, unadorned field with a raised rim.
