| Obverse description | Central field features the oval city arms of Halberstadt — a vertically divided shield, the dexter half plain and the sinister half ornamented with foliate scrollwork — set within an elaborate cartouche of curling acanthus-style ornament. The denomination legend EIN ORTS THALER is inscribed in three lines across the upper field, with the date 1625 flanking the cartouche in the lower portion. Small rosette or star ornaments appear to either side of the shield. The coin is encircled by a beaded inner border. |
