Reverse description The denomination numeral '1' is prominently displayed at center, flanked by the word PROBE (meaning 'pattern' or 'trial') below it and REICHSMARK beneath that, all rendered in Gothic blackletter script. An open wreath of oak branches with acorns frames the central denomination device on both sides, tied at the base. The legend DEUTSCHES REICH arcs across the upper field in Gothic script, and the date 1939 appears at the bottom of the field below the wreath. The entire design is contained within a beaded border.
