Obverse description Frontal crowned bust of John of Bohemia rendered in a stylized Gothic manner, the face depicted full-face with a prominent crown above, long hair falling to the shoulders. A Latin legend in uncial characters runs around the periphery, commencing at the left of the field. The effigy is contained within a beaded border, typical of Lucchese hammered coinage of the early 14th century.
