| Reverse description | The reverse retains the residual design of the host coin, which appears to be a Spanish or Spanish colonial issue, with elements of a crowned heraldic shield visible in the field. The shield displays multiple quarters featuring castles and lions, surmounted by a royal crown, consistent with typical Spanish colonial coinage of the period. Much of the original legend and finer detail has been obscured or worn through circulation and the countermarking process. The field surrounding the shield shows remnants of the original beaded or milled border. |
