Reverse descriptionHost coin Mexico MB#26  A decree on September 28, 1868 ordered all worn, Spanish-American, 1 and 2 Real milled coins counter-stamped with one of these marks, to distinguish them from debased Spanish Provincial coins. Cob coinage was demonetized in 1873 with the assistance of the Guatemalan government. Individuals only had three days in which to redeem cob coinage for current coinage or promissory notes.
