| Obverse description | Black intaglio print on light green underprint. A central vignette of a steam-and-sail vessel at sea is flanked on each side by an oval guilloche medallion bearing the numeral "1". Below the vignette, the issuer's name appears in bold letterpress, followed by a promise-to-pay clause in script and a horizontal cartouche with the denomination "UN REAL". The place of issue "Concordia" and the manuscript date of 4 July 1873 appear at the lower portion, with a red serial number to the upper right. |
