Obverse description Cob-style obverse displaying the quartered Royal Arms of Castile and León within a shield, with the castle of Castile and lion of León occupying alternating quarters. The granada (pomegranate) is visible at the base of the shield. The design is characteristic of the macuquina (cob) coinage produced at Potosí, with the strike irregular and the legend only partially visible around the periphery due to the flan shape. A dotted border is partially discernible along the coin's irregular edge.
